Getting is Good, Giving is Grand!

Welcome to Spring! As the daily temperatures increase the snow piles decrease and we inch closer to a much anticipated Spring. This week Gossetts Farm Market is proud to welcome back the Community Center of Northern Westchester.

The Community Center of Northern Westchester will have a table at the Market and will be collecting food for local neighbors in need. What is especially needed is listed below.

    • Fresh Fruits and Vegetables
    • Canned Fruits and Vegetables
    • Dried and canned beans
    • Hot and cold cereal
    • Tuna and canned meat
    • Cans of soup, beef stew and chili
    • Pasta, rice and spaghetti sauce
    • Peanut butter and jelly
    • Fruit juice
    • Baby food and diapers
    • Dry or shelf-stable milk

The Community Center of Northern Westchester provides many services. From their website……

In addition to providing food and clothing for thousands of households across more than 30 communities in Northern Westchester, we offer a range of classes and special programs, and work directly with our clients to assist them in gaining access to other resources, including health care, education, and social services.

So this Saturday you have an opportunity not only to get some of the freshest food in town, but also to give to those who need it most. Giving is always a heart warming event and bringing relief to local people is both kind and smart.

Check your pantry, grab a can or package of one of the items listed above and stop by the CCNW’s table. Doing that will make an already good experience a great one! All of us at Gossett Farmers Market thank you for your generous donation. See you Saturday!

    We moved the Market Inside!

Looking for the Market on Saturday? Since winter is rapidly approaching, we moved the market inside where it is cozy and warm. Heated by the sun and a wood burning stove, the market is open all year round with all of your favorite vendors packed into our greenhouse/garage where we are safe from whatever weather comes out way. It's a different location but the same quality local food! Come join your friends and neighbors at Gossetts INDOOR Farmers Market. The only year round farmers market in your local town.

    Fall is in the air!

Pumpkins, corn stalks, mums, cabbage, kale and ornamental peppers and fall annuals are here and they look great! Talk a walk around he nursery this Saturday during the Market to get a taste of the amazing Autumn colors that will soon surround us.

    Vacations for all

Summertime vacations are in full swing and so while most folks take a much needed break, the market is going to scale back to Saturdays only until the Autumn. Having the market on Saturdays also gives our vendors a break to enjoy the summer months and get ready for the harvest of fall.

All our farmers and vendors will be at Gossett Nursery each Saturday to bring you all the great local food you have come to expect for the last 4 years. Be sure to take a look around the nursery also to see all the amazing flowers, plants, shrubs and trees that are at the height of bloom.

Did you know that the higher summer temperatures make July the most popular month for ice cream. In July, Americans celebrate National Ice Cream Month. U.S. citizens consume about 5.5 gallons per year (on average.) and speaking of ice cream, Hudson Valley's Best Jams will be serving their amazing sundaes again this Saturday.

PIPER LOU PASTRY/ JOHNNYCAKE MOUNTAIN FARM are quickly gaining a following for their AMAZING burger (it's actually getting almost cult-like, which is kind of exciting) , Johnnycake beef served on Piper Lou's freshly baked sesame seed bun, with Piper Lou's homemade ketchup or aoli sauce, with fresh lettuce and tomato (from the market of course). Their latest hit is their onion burger. If you like hamburgers, you HAVE to experience this. This is a BUCKET LIST BURGER! Trust us!

Finding Farm Fresh Food For Fabulous Fathers!

Johnnycake Mountain Farm is serving their mouth watering burgers again this Saturday along with fresh made donuts! So stop by, grab a farm fresh burger from a local vendor as you shop the market.
